It's happening more and more these days.  Organizations, and government entities like school districts, municipal governments, and universities are all doing it.  They're all using the internet as a sort of ultimate public bulletin board.  We might not be that far from the day when "giving public notice" just means posting something on the internet.

Here's an example of the kinds of stuff that's being posted:

• The California Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003

• European Union Regulation 998/2003 concerning the transportation of pet cats, dogs and ferrets among member nations.

• List of Federal Medicare and Medicaid program acronyms that start with the letter "O"

• School Board Policy concerning the removal of a special education student from class in Aldine, Texas

• Proposed Public Ordinances in Upper Saucon Township in Pennsylvania concerning stop signs and speed limits.

This is a pretty wide ranging list isn't it?  Today's technology tip is a general reminder that this type of information is available out there.  You should spend some time getting familiar with what's available online in your own community and place of work.
